Our client, an Australian producer of clean, high-grade nickel sulphides is currently seeking an Alternate Underground Manager to join their operation.
The project is situated in the Southern Goldfield region of WA. Mining operations are undertaken via a box-cut decline, with an inital mining inventory of 1.2Mt of ore at an average nickel grade of 3.3%.
Requirements:
- WA Underground First Class Mine Managers Certificate of Competency or equivalent;
- Degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent;
- Dangerous Goods Security Card;
- Demonstrated experience in underground mining;
- Competent using Deswik;
- Knowledge of West Australian Work Health and Safety Act 2020 and Work Health and Safety Mine Regulations 2022.
Position Duties:
- Assist Underground Manager with the management and supervisor and leadership of the operational team;
- Assume the responsibilities of the Underground Manager as required as per the FIFO roster;
- Implement strategies and action plans to ensure that the mining operations support the company's strategic initiatives;
- Provide technical support to the mining operations as required;
- Analyse and report on mining operational performance to identify any early interventions necessary to maintain performance;
- Generate budgets and 14/14 operating plan.
