Reporting to the Manager – Mine Planning, this role is responsible for leading the development of medium- and long-term mine plans for both open pit and underground operations. You’ll guide a team of engineers, ensuring mine planning aligns with the company’s strategic growth objectives across multiple assets.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or related discipline.
- Recognised Competent Person under JORC 2012.
- Experience in open-pit mine planning (underground experience beneficial).
- Proven leadership experience at the Principal or Superintendent level.
- Skilled in Deswik and/or Vulcan software.
- Strong communication, leadership, and project management skills.

Position Duties:
- Lead the mine planning function with a primary focus on open pit operations (underground experience advantageous);
- Develop and oversee medium- and long-term mine designs, schedules, and strategies;
- Provide technical guidance on mine design, sequencing, and life-of-mine planning;
- Conduct and review reserve estimations in line with JORC 2012 principles;
- Mentor and manage a team of engineers to deliver high-quality technical outcomes;
- Collaborate across geology, operations, processing, safety, and environmental teams;
- Drive continuous improvement in mine planning systems, tools, and software (Deswik, Vulcan preferred);
- Monitor plan execution, identify variances, and implement corrective actions;
- Manage planning budgets, schedules, and reporting to senior leadership.
Experience
10+ years’ experience in open pit mine planning (underground experience beneficial).
