We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Open Pit Mining Engineer for a fast-paced, 6-month contract. Flying in and out of Perth on a highly desirable 8/6 roster, you will play a pivotal role in driving short-term planning and pit production.
This is a hands-on role perfect for a technical expert who thrives in a dynamic site environment and can seamlessly bridge the gap between design and daily production.

Requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in open pit mine planning and engineering.
- Strong proficiency in Deswik, including design and scheduling modules.
- Experience with ShotPlus blast design software.
- Proven ability to develop practical mine designs and production schedules.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
Position Duties:
- Develop and maintain production drill designs using Deswik.
- Prepare and coordinate tie-in designs using ShotPlus.
- Develop and manage short-term mine schedules using Deswik.
- Facilitate and lead short-term planning and production meetings.
- Provide technical support to operations teams to ensure plan execution.
- Monitor performance against plan and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Ensure all designs and schedules comply with site safety and operational standards.
