What you’ll bring

  • First Class Mine Manager’s Certificate of Competency (mandatory)
  • Relevant qualifications in Mining Engineering or equivalent;
  • Proven experience in underground hard rock mining operations;
  • Strong understanding of mining legislation and safety management systems;
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in a supervisory or management capacity;
  • Sound knowledge of underground mining methods, equipment, and practices;
  • Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and organisational skills;
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities;
  • Current driver’s licence;
  • Ability to work a site-based roster;

Position Duties:

  • Act as Alternate Underground Manager in accordance with statutory requirements.
  • Support and oversee daily underground production activities to ensure safety, efficiency, and compliance.
  • Ensure all operations align with the site Safety Management System and relevant legislation.
  • Provide strong leadership, coaching, and direction to underground supervisors and crews.
  • Proactively manage underground risks including ground control, ventilation, and operational hazards.
  • Lead and support incident investigations, driving corrective actions and continuous improvement;
  • Work closely with technical services to coordinate and optimise short-term mine plans;
  • Foster collaboration across departments to achieve production and safety targets.
