Our client, a Western Australian ASX-listed gold explorer with a significant high-grade gold deposit, is seeking a Production Engineer to join their Underground Gold Project, which sits in a substantial gold and nickel-producing district.

Requirements;

  •  A tertiary degree in Mining Engineering
  • Experience in mechanised UG mining
  • Completed UG practical experience required for WA FCMMCC
  • Deswik competency
  • VentSim competency (preferred)
  • Ventilation, project or infrastructure experience (preferred)Short term scheduling experience (preferred)
  • Ability to work autonomously with well-developed time management skills
  • Good interpersonal communication, literacy, numeracy and presentation skills
  • Outstanding analytical skills and high attention to detail

Position Duties:

  • Working alongside Geology and Geotechnical Team to optimize stope design with respect to maximizing recovery and
    safety;
  • Designing safe work plans for vertical development (stope slotting and raiseboring) ;
  • Conducting stope long hole drill designs to optimize drilling, and working alongside operators in the execution of drill
    patterns;
  • Identifying suitable areas for waste backfilling underground, and developing plans to implement a safe tipping location;
  • Developing and issuing prep and charge plans and conducting QAQC activities;
  • Conducting business improvement to optimize the mining cycle;
  • Undertaking improvement projects as directed by the Senior Production Engineer;
  • Working alongside mine planning team to identify opportunities to improve on execution of the 12wk mining schedule;
  • Data collection, management and analysis to identify emerging trends and opportunities for improvement;
  • Conduct secondary and primary ventilation surveys as required;
  • Daily and weekly mine plan compliance tracking to ensure schedule compliance.
