Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or a related discipline;
  • WA First Class Mine Manager’s Certificate of Competency;
  • Proven leadership experience in underground mining, ideally at a senior level;
  • Strong background in underground mining operations and project management;
  • Experience in contractor management and stakeholder engagement;
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and deliver on budget and production targets;
  • Ability to develop and lead high-performing teams with a focus on safety and operational excellence;
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Position Duties:

  • Lead underground mining operations, ensuring production and development activities are executed efficiently and safely;
  • Oversee the coordination of daily operational activities, balancing short-term needs with long-term planning to meet business objectives;
  • Monitor mine performance against plans, implementing corrective actions as needed;
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, sharing ideas and best practices across teams;
  • Manage and optimise mined recovery while minimising dilution in stoping activities.
  • Prepare and oversee mining schedules, forecasts, and budgets to align with production and development targets;
  • Lead a team of mining professionals to achieve operational excellence and drive safety culture;
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (geology, processing, safety, etc.) to ensure integrated mine planning and decision-making.
