Our client is seeking an Alternate Underground Manager to join an emerging Australian gold producer advancing a high-quality underground operation in Western Australia.   • Appointment (or eligibility for appointment) as Alternate Underground Manager in Western Australia.
  • Extensive underground hard rock mining experience.
  • Strong leadership capability with a collaborative and accountable management style.
  • Proven experience in underground production and development environments.
  • Sound understanding of WA mining legislation and statutory requirements.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset.

Position Duties:

  • Act as Alternate Underground Manager in accordance with WA mining legislation.
  • Support and relieve the Underground Manager as required.
  • Provide visible safety leadership and foster a proactive safety culture.
  • Ensure compliance with the Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations.
  • Oversee underground production, development, ventilation, ground control, and paste/fill operations.
  • Lead, mentor and develop underground supervisors and operational teams.
  • Monitor and optimise production performance against budget and plan.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across safety, cost and productivity.
