They are currently seeking a Planning Engineer for a 3-month contract to support underground scheduling activities, delivering plans aligned with safety, production, and cost targets.
Requirements
- A tertiary degree in Mining Engineering
- Experience in mechanised UG mining
- Mine Planning experience
- Deswik competency
- VentSim competency (preferred)
- Ventilation, project or infrastructure experience (preferred)
- Short-term scheduling experience (preferred)
- Ability to work autonomously with well-developed time management skills
- Good interpersonal communication, literacy, numeracy and presentation skills
- Outstanding analytical skills and high attention to detail
- Ability to work to deadlines
Position Duties:
- Creation of the rolling 12 week mine plan as to align with the Quarterly mine plan;
- Provide weekly updates of the rolling 12 week mine plan, updated with mining face positions and design changes;
- Delivery and communication of 3 monthly mine plan to key stakeholder;
- Tracking and driving compliance to the rolling 3 monthly mine plan on a weekly basis;
- Under guidance of the Senior Planning Engineers, deliver the 18 month mining forecast for the underground mine each quarter;
- Proactively communicate threats to budget delivery, including grade, physicals and schedule variances and plans to
ameliorate the business impacts; - Produce monthly variance reports for mining physicals including comparison against Budget and Forecast;
