MES has an urgent short-term requirement for an experienced Mine Manager / Mining Superintendent to support operations at a small gold mine in Tanzania for approximately 9–12 weeks (April to June 2026), covering a period of planned leave for the permanent Mine Manager.

This is a hands-on leadership role coordinating day-to-day mining delivery, including contractor management and technical services oversight.

  • ~25ktpd total movement
  • Contractor mining: ~20ktpd
  • Owner fleet: ~5ktpd
  • Predominantly Tanzanian workforce (contractor + owner team)
  • Small expat presence on site; additional expat support available in May
  • Outgoing Mine Manager available online for handover/support through late April

Key responsibilities

  • Coordinate operational execution across contractor and owner mining activities
  • Liaise with site leadership and provide oversight/coordination with technical services
  • Maintain safe, efficient production delivery in a remote environment

What we’re looking for

  • Proven experience as Mine Manager / Superintendent (gold/open pit experience preferred)
  • Strong contractor interface + operational leadership skills
  • Ideally holds WA Quarry Manager experience/qualification (or similar)
  • Comfortable working with a local workforce in an international setting
  • No statutory/legal appointment required for this engagement
