MES has an urgent short-term requirement for an experienced Mine Manager / Mining Superintendent to support operations at a small gold mine in Tanzania for approximately 9–12 weeks (April to June 2026), covering a period of planned leave for the permanent Mine Manager.
This is a hands-on leadership role coordinating day-to-day mining delivery, including contractor management and technical services oversight.

- Contractor mining: ~20ktpd
- Owner fleet: ~5ktpd
- Predominantly Tanzanian workforce (contractor + owner team)
- Small expat presence on site; additional expat support available in May
- Outgoing Mine Manager available online for handover/support through late April
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate operational execution across contractor and owner mining activities
- Liaise with site leadership and provide oversight/coordination with technical services
- Maintain safe, efficient production delivery in a remote environment
What we’re looking for
- Proven experience as Mine Manager / Superintendent (gold/open pit experience preferred)
- Strong contractor interface + operational leadership skills
- Ideally holds WA Quarry Manager experience/qualification (or similar)
- Comfortable working with a local workforce in an international setting
- No statutory/legal appointment required for this engagement
