LD18495 - Manager – Res Dev & Target Generation (Iron Ore)

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and commercially minded geologist to lead Resource Development and Target Generation activities across a large-scale iron ore operation in Western Australia.

This is a hybrid leadership role operating on a 4/3 roster, combining Perth-based corporate responsibilities with regular site engagement. Working closely with operational and technical stakeholders, you will play a key role in shaping geological strategy, identifying growth opportunities and supporting the long-term success of the operation.

The successful candidate will be a well-rounded technical leader who can confidently operate across both resource development and exploration functions. You will lead an elite team of geologists, geophysicists, and resource modelers, taking greenfields and brownfields concepts from initial data synthesis right through to drill-ready targets and JORC-compliant resource delivery.

Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will hold the strategic keys to the company’s multi-commodity future. This is a high-autonomy role designed for a hands-on technical leader who wants to bridge the gap between pure geoscience and rapid commercial execution.

Position Duties:

Pipeline Leadership: Own the end-to-end target generation strategy across a massive WA tenement footprint, prioritising high-value bulk commodity and battery mineral prospects.
Resource Development: Oversee the transition of successful exploration targets into robust, high-confidence resource models to back major infrastructure and development decisions.
Near-Mine Exploration: Drive aggressive brownfields exploration surrounding core flagship operations to rapidly expand life-of-mine metrics
Technical Excellence: Deploy cutting-edge geochemistry, geophysics, and structural geology techniques to identify deep, concealed, or overlooked mineralisation styles.
Business Development Support: Conduct rigorous technical due diligence on external project acquisitions, open acreage, and joint-venture opportunities.
Team Mentorship: Lead, inspire, and technically develop a high-performing team of geoscience professionals, fostering a culture of accountability and agility.
