An excellent opportunity is available for an experienced Senior Mining Engineer to join a well-established underground mining operation in Western Australia. Working as part of a collaborative Technical Services team, you'll play a key role in delivering safe, practical and efficient mine plans while supporting production performance and continuous improvement initiatives.
This is a leadership position suited to an experienced underground mining engineer who enjoys collaborating across technical disciplines, mentoring engineers and driving operational performance through planning excellence.
About You
- Bachelor's Degree in Mining Engineering.
- Minimum five years' experience in underground hard rock mining, with exposure to technical services and mine planning.
- Strong understanding of underground mining methods, including long-hole open stoping and paste fill operations.
- Experience developing short, medium and long-term mine plans using Deswik or equivalent mine planning software.
- Exposure to underground mine ventilation planning or ventilation engineering.
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to mentor engineers and work collaboratively across operations and technical teams.
- Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- WA First Class Mine Manager's Certificate is advantageous but not essential.
Position Duties:
- Prepare and maintain short, medium and long-term mine plans.
- Develop and oversee short, medium and long-term mine plans, production schedules and Life of Mine strategies.
- Coordinate mine designs, development plans and work instructions to support safe and efficient underground operations.
- Collaborate closely with geology, geotechnical, ventilation, paste fill and operational teams to optimise mine performance.
- Support mine ventilation planning and work alongside ventilation specialists to maintain effective underground ventilation systems.
- Analyse operational performance, prepare production forecasts and deliver weekly, monthly and quarterly technical reporting.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, cost control and operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, environmental obligations and workplace health and safety legislation.
