An established underground gold mining operation is seeking a Production Engineer to join its technical services team. This role is ideally suited to an engineer who enjoys being close to the operation, working alongside underground crews to optimise production while contributing to short-term planning activities.
Reporting to the Senior Mining Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering safe and efficient underground production through production scheduling, drill and blast design, and operational support.
About You
- Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering.
- Approximately 3–7 years' underground hard rock mining experience.
- Strong background in underground production engineering.
- Experience with drill and blast design and production scheduling.
- Exposure to short-term mine planning is advantageous.
- Experience using Deswik, Vulcan, MineSched or similar mine planning software.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to work closely with operational teams.
- Current Australian Driver's Licence and unrestricted Australian work rights.

Position Duties:
- Produce and manage weekly and fortnightly production schedules.
- Prepare drill and blast designs for underground development and production stopes.
- Provide day-to-day technical support to underground operations.
- Monitor production performance and identify opportunities to improve productivity and minimise dilution.
- Complete production reporting, reconciliations and KPI tracking.
- Liaise closely with Mining, Geology and Survey teams to coordinate daily activities.
- Assist with short-term mine planning, development sequencing and rolling forecasts.
- Ensure plans are practical, achievable and aligned with operational objectives.
- Promote safe mining practices and compliance with site procedures.
Experience
3+ years' underground hard rock mining experience.
