We are seeking an Open Pit Mining Specialist to join a growing gold producer and lead the transition of the project into an active surface mining operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide visible and proactive safety leadership, embedding a strong risk management culture across the operation.
- Lead, mentor, and develop Mining and Technical teams.
- Manage the Mining Services Agreement.
- Deliver mining plans, production targets, and cost outcomes.
- Lead forecasting processes including annual budgets, quarterly updates, and monthly cost reporting.
- Review and approve operational plans, budgets, and capital expenditure proposals.
- Undertake statutory responsibilities as Quarry Manager.
About You
You are an accomplished mining leader with a strong track record of managing open-pit operations, developing technical capability and building high-performing teams.
Ideally you will have:
- Quarry Managers Certificate of Competency.
- Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering.
- Experience in mining leadership roles.
- Strong knowledge of mining systems.
- Proven ability to balance safety, production, and cost performance.
- High level leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
