Join a leading Australian gold producer that is seeking an experienced Contract Planning Engineer to support its Underground Operations. This is an opportunity to join a high-performing technical team and play a key role in short- and medium-term mine planning activities.
Reporting to the Technical Services team, you will be responsible for developing practical mine plans, improving operational performance, and supporting safe and efficient underground mining activities.
Requirements
- Underground hard rock mining experience;
- Previous experience in mine planning and scheduling roles;
- Strong understanding of underground mining methods and operational constraints;
- Experience with mine planning software (e.g. Deswik or similar)
- Ability to work collaboratively with operational teams;
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills;
- A focus on safety, productivity, and continuous improvement
Position Duties:
- Develop and maintain short-term and medium-term underground mine plans;
- Prepare mine schedules, designs, and planning documentation to support production targets;
- Collaborate with Mining, Geology, Survey, and Technical Services teams to optimise mine performance;
- Monitor plan execution and identify opportunities for improvement;
- Assist with stope sequencing, development planning, and operational priorities;
- Provide technical guidance and recommendations to operational stakeholders;
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across underground operations.
