An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and motivated Alternate Underground Manager to join a high-performing underground gold operation in Western Australia’s Northern Goldfields.

Reporting to the Underground Manager, this role is responsible for supporting the safe, efficient and profitable operation of the underground mine. You will provide leadership across production, development and technical teams while ensuring statutory compliance and operational excellence.

Requirements;

  • WA First Class Mine Manager’s Certificate of Competency (or working towards).
  • Degree in Mining Engineering or related discipline.
  • Demonstrated underground hard rock mining experience.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Sound understanding of mine planning, ventilation and statutory obligations.
  • Commitment to fostering a positive and safety-focused culture.

 

Position Duties:

  • Assist in the day-to-day management of underground mining operations.
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements and safety standards.
  • Provide strong leadership to supervisors, engineers and operational crews.
  • Monitor and optimise production performance against budget and forecast.
  • Support mine planning, scheduling and forecasting activities.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across safety, cost and productivity.
  • Act in the capacity of Underground Manager as required.
Experience
At least 3–5 years in a senior supervisory or technical leadership role
