Our client, a respected gold mining company, is seeking a Ventilation Engineer to support their operations in Western Australia.
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering;
- Proven experience in underground hard rock mining with ventilation exposure;
- Strong knowledge of underground ventilation systems, survey requirements, and compliance standards;
- Experience with mine design, planning, and ventilation software (e.g. Deswik, Surpac, VentSim);
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills with high attention to detail;
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic production environment with changing priorities;
- Strong communication skills across technical and operational teams;
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and regulatory compliance;
- Valid manual driver’s licence.
Position Duties:
- Develop, implement, and maintain underground ventilation plans to support safe and efficient production;
- Conduct regular ventilation surveys and audits, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements;
- Monitor and analyse ventilation performance, identifying risks and improvement opportunities;
- Maintain and update ventilation models (e.g. VentSim) to reflect current and future mine conditions;
- Provide technical advice and practical solutions to operations, planning, and leadership teams;
- Support short- and long-term mine planning activities with ventilation input;
- Investigate and report on ventilation incidents, hazards, and non-compliance issues;
- Collaborate with site teams to optimise airflow, gas management, and dust control;
- Ensure all ventilation systems and controls meet regulatory and site safety standards.
