Our client, a high-grade lead-silver mine in the Gascoyne region, is seeking a Senior Underground Engineer. Reporting to the Underground Manager and Alternate Underground Manager, you will ensure short, medium and long-term mine plans are implemented to optimise mine life and enable the business to meet its long-term and short-term objectives.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering;
  • WA First Class Mine Managers Certificate (desirable);
  • Competent in using Deswik;
  • Sound understanding of the WA Mines Safety and Inspection Act.

Position Duties:

  • Prepare forecasts and develop a mining strategy with assistance from the
    Mining – Geology department and Production Engineers;
  • Ensure the integrity and security of all data stored on the mine planning
    Software systems;
  • Develop mine design, planning guidelines and strategies to optimise
    mining processes;
  • Development planning incorporates the short-term, medium-term, and long-term
    planning requirements;
  • Oversee the preparation of schedules to meet the forecasts.
  • Supervise the preparation of development Mine Instructions to facilitate
    the schedules;
  • Compilation of forecasts and Life of Mine plans;
  • Manage the preparation of short-term schedules and assist Production
    Engineers are involved in the implementation of designs;
  • Supervise the preparation and approval of mine development Mine
    Instructions;
  • Review costs for the Life of Mine Plan and develop cut-off grades for Ore
    Reserve Estimations.
