Our client, a growing mid-tier gold producer, is currently seeking a Senior Underground Mine Geologist to join their team. This role involves managing and interpreting technical data, including underground geological mapping and sampling, geotechnical mapping and monitoring, grade control, and diamond core logging. You will also compile mining and geological production statistics and reporting. By analyzing and interpreting this data, you will support mining production by providing orebody and structural models.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science majoring in Geology;
- Significant experience in underground mining;
- Proficient using Datamine and Leapfrog.
Position Duties:
- Maintain operational direction as set by the Mine manager and Geology Manager/Superintendent, of the mining and geological process;
- Ensure geological operational capability and performance is maintained through supervision of personnel;
- Oversee grade control drilling and development drilling to establish orebody limits within approved budget estimates;
- Manage performance indicators for mining and geological activities, in line with annual and quarterly plans, and monitor and adjust performance as needed;
- Assist in preparing regular management updates and cost reports on the progress of geological and mining activities.
