Our client, a successful Australian lithium mining company, is seeking an Open Pit Production Engineer to join their team.

Reporting to the Senior Mining Engineer you will be responsible for short-term mine schedules, mine designs, production plans and production support.

Requirements:

  • Degree qualified in Mining Engineering or equivalent;
  • Western Australian 'C' Class Drivers License;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint;
  • Experience using Mine Planning software (preferably, Vulcan/Surpac/Deswik and Alastri).

Position Duties:

  • Generation of the 36 hour mine plan, and 2 weekly mine schedules,
  • Produce daily, weekly, and monthly mine production reports;
  • Open pit mine designs including waste dumps, haul roads, and ROM stockpiles;
  • Review and manage weekly conformance to plan;
  • Assist in cost-benefit analysis on continuous improvement projects;
  • Liaising with Production Scheduler, Mining Supervisor, D&B Engineer, Mine Surveyor, Mine Geologists, and Pit Technicians.
Experience
2-5 years experience in a similar role in a Mining Engineering team.
