Underground Planning Engineer

Western Australia

We are seeking an experienced Underground Planning Engineer to join an established gold operation in the Central Goldfields region of Western Australia.

This is an opportunity for a motivated Mining Engineer to take ownership of underground mine planning, working closely with the technical services and operations teams to deliver safe, practical and achievable mine plans.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain short- and medium-term underground mine plans.
  • Prepare mine designs, schedules, development and production plans.
  • Monitor and report on mining performance against plan.
  • Work closely with Underground Mining, Geology and Technical Services teams.
  • Identify opportunities to improve mine sequencing, productivity and resource utilisation.
  • Provide planning support for budgets, forecasts and life-of-mine planning.
  • Ensure plans comply with site standards, statutory requirements and operational constraints.

About You

  • Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering.
  • Previous experience in underground hard-rock mining, preferably gold.
  • Strong underground mine planning and scheduling experience.
  • Competent with Deswik and/or other mine planning software.
  • Strong understanding of underground mining methods, development and production scheduling.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • WA underground mining experience highly regarded.
