We are seeking an experienced Ventilation Engineer to join a high-performing underground technical services team at a well-established gold operation in Western Australia.
This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in maintaining safe, efficient, and compliant underground ventilation systems within a modern, mechanised mining environment.
The Role
Reporting to the Technical Services Superintendent, you will be responsible for planning, monitoring, and optimising the underground ventilation network to ensure compliance with statutory requirements and operational performance targets.
Requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering or a related discipline;
- Experience in underground hard rock mining (gold highly regarded);
- Strong knowledge of WA ventilation legislation and statutory requirements;
- Experience with ventilation modelling software (Ventsim preferred);
- Sound analytical and problem-solving skills;
- The ability to work effectively in a site-based team environment
Position Duties:
- Design, review and optimisation of underground ventilation circuits;
- Ventilation modelling and scenario planning (e.g., Ventsim or similar software)
- Monitoring and reporting on airflow, gas levels, heat, and dust;
- Development and maintenance of Ventilation Management Plans;
- Conducting ventilation surveys and audits;
- Ensuring compliance with WA mining regulations;
- Supporting life-of-mine planning and expansion studies;
- Collaborating closely with underground operations and planning teams
