Our client is seeking a qualified Mine Superintendent or emerging Mine Manager to join a large-scale, long-life open pit gold operation in Western Australia.

This role is suited to a high-calibre mining professional who combines strong technical capability with proven operational leadership. You will play a key role in leading mining production activities while positioning yourself on a clear pathway toward Mine Manager-level accountability.

Working within an owner-operator environment, you will have direct influence over safety performance, production delivery, fleet optimisation, and cost control across a substantial open pit operation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Engineering (Mining Engineering or equivalent).
  • All relevant WA statutory qualifications (or eligibility to obtain).
  • Minimum 10 years’ open pit mining experience.
  • At least 3 years in a senior operational leadership role (Superintendent or equivalent).
  • Experience within owner-operated mining environments.
  • Strong understanding of WA regulatory and compliance frameworks.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead high-performing teams in a remote FIFO setting.
  • Commercial acumen and strong cost control capability.

Position Duties:

  • Lead daily open pit mining operations across drill & blast and load & haul.
  • Drive a strong safety culture with visible and proactive leadership.
  • Ensure full compliance with WA mining legislation and statutory obligations.
  • Exercise statutory responsibilities as required.
  • Deliver production targets in line with budget and forecast.
  • Manage and mentor Supervisors and operational teams.
  • Work closely with Technical Services to align short-term execution with life-of-mine plans.
  • Identify and implement operational improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to medium and long-term operational strategy.
