Our client, a high-grade lead-silver mine in the Gascoyne region, is seeking a Medium Term Planning Underground Engineer. Reporting to the Underground Manager and Alternate Underground Manager, you will ensure medium-term mine plans are implemented to optimise mine life and enable the business to meet its long-term and short-term objectives.
- Tertiary Qualification Mining Related Discipline;
- Current “C” class Western Australian driver’s license;
- Advanced computer literacy and business software knowledge of mine planning systems and software (e.g. Deswik);
- Understanding of relevant WA mining legislation;
- Proven communication skills including with contractors;
- Experience in completing level designs;
- LOM Planning/ Annual Budgeting/ Monthly/Quarterly scheduling;
- Experience in economic assessments inclusive of development and infrastructure.
Position Duties:
- Ensure 3MS and 6Q’s follow spatial compliance against the budget mine plan and variations to plan documented.
- Produce preliminary, conceptual, and final designs on updated geology information promptly as directed by the supervisor;
- Ensure cut-off-grade calculations are update annually to strategize mine plan options and maximise value for the business;
- Ensure that all mine plans and work instructions are inherently safe for execution (including but not limited to pillar design, stopes are backfilled to ensure stability, decline is adequately offset from stopes, etc;
- Ensure that on a rolling 6-month basis the technical department has highlighted any key upcoming technical challenges or mine plan constraints – and there are solutions to this;
- Ensure completion of quarterly actual variation against forecast and budget;
