Vita lodges revised ICE exploration application for 2027 Yukon field season

The company said the revised Tū Łidlini Assessment Process application follows a positive recommendation from the Yukon Environmental and Socio-economic Assessment Board and a five-year Class 3 Quartz Mining Land Use Approval from the Yukon Government, effective to October 6, 2031. Vita noted that the Yukon Government approval and Ross River Dena Council consent are separate processes.

The proposed revised programme includes ground geophysics, soil geochemistry, mapping and prospecting, with potential airborne or drone-supported geophysical surveys. No drilling is proposed under the revised application. Vita said it is evaluating an expanded electromagnetic survey to identify conductive massive sulphide mineralisation and possible drilling targets, subject to future approvals and outcomes.

Vita said commencement of 2027 exploration remains subject to Ross River Dena Council consent and suitable funding. The company also said detailed programme design, contractor engagement and expenditure commitments will depend on the activities consented to, seasonal access and available funding.
