Invictus Energy has provided an operational update on preparations to drill the Musuma-1 exploration well at its 80%-owned and operated Cabora Bassa Project in Zimbabwe. The company said the rig had been moved from the Mukuyu-2 wellsite and rig-up activities for Exalo Rig 202 were underway at Musuma-1.
The company said well services equipment and personnel were being progressively deployed while rig maintenance, installation and testing continued ahead of final rig acceptance. Invictus said Musuma-1 remained on track to spud during November 2026, although the precise date depends on remaining critical equipment arriving in Zimbabwe and completion of final readiness activities.
Invictus describes Musuma-1 as targeting 1.2 Tcf of gas and 73 million barrels of condensate. The company says these prospective resource estimates are unrisked, have not been adjusted for discovery or development chance, and are not certain to be commercially viable.
