Rox Resources has extended two ore drives beyond the original mine plan at its Youanmi Gold Mine in Western Australia, as underground drilling supports preparations for production stoping.
The 14 September update reports that the 2356 and 2341 metre reduced-level ore drives have each advanced approximately 125 metres further along strike than designed in the Definitive Feasibility Study.
United North drilling confirms high-grade mineralisation
Underground diamond drilling at United North returned 9.77 metres at 11.17 grams per tonne gold from 229.86 metres, 10.30 metres at 12.46 grams per tonne from 184.70 metres, and 6.98 metres at 13.93 grams per tonne from 187.40 metres.
These are reported downhole intervals, which the company considers to approximate true widths. The results were received after the data cutoff for the recently announced resource and reserve update; potential additions require further assessment.
Rox completed 19 diamond holes for 3,326 metres in August. Continued infill drilling is designed to achieve nominal 20 metre by 20 metre spacing to improve confidence ahead of the first two years of production.
Grade-control modelling precedes stoping
Both extended ore drives are being prepared for production stoping once the final grade-control model is completed in coming weeks. Some underground drilling and production face-sample assays remain outstanding. Operational face samples are not equivalent to resource-definition drilling.
Development is also progressing on deeper levels. The company said its surface ore stockpile is growing ahead of plan, supporting the DFS commissioning stockpile target of 190,000 tonnes at 3.3 grams per tonne gold.
The progress highlights underground mining, geology and technical readiness as the operation advances. Specific vacancies and recruitment timing remain for Rox to confirm.
