CGN Resources has intersected gold at three of four targets in its maiden reverse-circulation drilling program at the Christmas Well Project near Leonora in Western Australia's Eastern Goldfields.
Results announced on 11 September 2026 cover 15 holes for 2,093 metres across the Rocky Mountain Oyster, Sweetbread, Lambs Fry and Ox Tongue prospects. Gold mineralisation was identified at Rocky Mountain Oyster, Sweetbread and Lambs Fry.
Rocky Mountain Oyster delivers strongest result
The standout intersection was 5 metres at 2.5 grams per tonne gold from 151 metres in hole XRC0010, including 1 metre at 10.94 grams per tonne. It extended mineralisation down dip and along strike from earlier shallow drilling. A hole about 200 metres to the west returned 7 metres at 0.25 grams per tonne from 57 metres.
At Lambs Fry, drilling returned 8 metres at 0.27 grams per tonne from 19 metres and 1 metre at 1.17 grams per tonne from 15 metres. CGN described the result as a new mineralised zone about 1.2 kilometres from the historic Jasper Flat open pit. Gold anomalism was also recorded at Sweetbread.
Follow-up targeting planned
The maiden program tested northwest-trending structures near the contact between the Eastern Goldfields greenstones and the Raeside Batholith. CGN said the results provide a technical basis to refine its model, follow the identified structures and test for larger, more continuous zones.
All Christmas Well tenure has now been granted, while the company's Panhandle tenure and heritage approvals are also in place for first-pass drilling at the Pelican prospect. Follow-up exploration could support continued field, drilling and geological activity, but no specific employment requirements were announced.
