Tivan has secured the final regulatory and cultural heritage approvals required to plan and mobilise an 8,000-metre development-focused drilling program at the Molyhil Tungsten Project in the Northern Territory.
The approvals announced on 11 September 2026 cover the project area about 220 kilometres north-east of Alice Springs. They include approval from the Northern Territory Government under an Environment (Mining) Licence and a Sacred Site Clearance Certificate issued by the Central Land Council following a work-area clearance survey.
Multidisciplinary drilling program
The planned Stage 2 program comprises about 50 holes across the existing resource and broader project area. It is designed to generate geological, metallurgical, geotechnical and hydrogeological data for feasibility studies, environmental approvals and development planning.
Drilling will support increased confidence in the existing Mineral Resource, metallurgical testwork and geotechnical inputs for pit and infrastructure design. Molyhil hosts a Measured, Indicated and Inferred Mineral Resource of 4.647 million tonnes at 0.26% tungsten trioxide and 0.09% molybdenum.
Development studies continue
Tivan is progressing a Pre-Feasibility Study for a potential mining and processing operation producing scheelite and molybdenite concentrates. The company is also working towards joint-venture arrangements with Sumitomo Corporation and ETFS Capital, which have outlined up to $50 million in stage-gated equity investment subject to definitive agreements and project milestones.
The approvals remove a key constraint on field mobilisation, with scheduling now to be finalised. The program may require drilling, geology, field support, geotechnical, hydrogeological and metallurgical capability as work advances, although Tivan did not announce specific vacancies.
