Ore Resources has extended lithium mineralisation beyond the current resource boundaries at the Kangaroo Hills Lithium Project near Coolgardie in Western Australia's Eastern Goldfields.
Results announced on 10 September 2026 cover 26 reverse-circulation holes for about 3,300 metres across the company's Coolgardie lithium portfolio. Eleven holes were drilled at Kangaroo Hills and 15 at the Miriam Lithium Project.
Big Red and Potoroo remain open
At Potoroo, drilling returned 15 metres at 1.14% lithium oxide from 68 metres, including 6 metres at 1.60%, and 6 metres at 1.00% from 59 metres. At Big Red, intersections outside the resource boundary included 15 metres at 1.00% from 142 metres, including 3 metres at 1.82%, and 10 metres at 1.04% from 155 metres within a broader 18-metre zone at 0.83%.
The results extend the pegmatite systems to the north and west. Drilling at Big Red West also intersected a 44-metre-thick pegmatite containing narrower mineralised intervals, providing another target for follow-up work. Initial drilling at Miriam did not return significant lithium intersections, with 12 of 13 identified pegmatite targets still untested.
Development work continues
Ore Resources said the extensions could support resource growth, classification upgrades and a longer operating case than assumed in the recent direct-shipping-ore scoping study. Discussions with strategic parties are continuing as the company advances the Kangaroo Hills project towards production.
Mining-lease applications and environmental approvals are also progressing. Subject to approvals and funding, the company is targeting a final investment decision in mid-2027. The latest drilling will inform that development work while further resource definition is planned.
