Maritana lifts Burbanks gold resource to 755,000 ounces

Maritana lifts Burbanks gold resource to 755,000 ounces

Maritana Minerals has increased the Mineral Resource at its Burbanks Gold Project near Coolgardie in Western Australia's Goldfields to 13.7 million tonnes at 1.7 grams per tonne gold for 755,000 ounces.

The update, announced on 11 September 2026, represents a 62% increase in contained gold from the previous estimate of 466,000 ounces. It incorporates the completed Phase 1 program of 53 diamond holes for 15,798 metres and drilling at Burbanks North.

Open-pit and underground inventory expands

The updated resource comprises 10.6 million tonnes at 1.45 grams per tonne for 496,000 ounces in open-pit material and 3.1 million tonnes at 2.63 grams per tonne for 259,000 ounces in underground material. The open-pit inventory increased by 198,000 ounces, or 67%, while the underground inventory increased by 91,000 ounces, or 54%.

Burbanks North accounted for most of the growth, rising to 11.1 million tonnes at 1.47 grams per tonne for 523,000 ounces. Mineralisation has been defined to about 450 metres below surface at Main Lode and Birthday Gift and remains open at depth and along strike. Indicated material now represents 29% of the Burbanks resource.

Reserve and mine-planning work to follow

The Burbanks open pit currently contributes 128,800 recovered ounces to the life-of-mine plan for Maritana's Black Swan Processing Hub. The underground resource is not included in that plan, leaving potential for future extensions subject to further technical work.

Results from the completed Phase 2 program will be included in another Mineral Resource update targeted for the March quarter of 2027. Maritana also plans Ore Reserve studies using the improved resource classification and reverse-circulation drilling at Burbanks South. These workstreams may support continued demand for geology, resource modelling, mining-study and project-development capability, although no new vacancies were announced.
