Mamba Identifies Copper Hills as Priority Copper Target

29 July 2026 | Western Australia - Mamba Exploration has identified Copper Hills as a priority copper target within its Meeka East Project in Western Australia’s Murchison region, following a review of historical geological, drilling and geophysical data.
The review has reframed Copper Hills as a potential sediment-hosted copper system, rather than the intrusion-hosted VMS-style system previously targeted by earlier explorers.
Mamba said the new interpretation points to potential for SEDEX or VSHMS-style copper mineralisation within the same broader geological corridor as Solstice Minerals’ Nanadie Copper-Gold Project.
Historical mining in the Copper Hills area during the 1950s recovered approximately 971 tonnes at 7.1% copper from shallow high-grade veins.
The company also noted that previous diamond drilling by Peak Minerals, now Lion Rock Minerals, intersected thin sulphide veining, including:
- 0.13m at 4.95% copper from 827.87m
- 0.20m at 4.18% copper from 899.15m
Mamba said these narrow sulphide veins may represent leakage from a larger stratabound system under the revised geological model.
Why it matters: Copper Hills now gives Mamba a copper-focused target alongside its primary gold exploration work at Meeka East.
The company said the revised model is comparable to Whim Creek and Mons Cupri-style sediment-hosted copper-lead-zinc systems in Western Australia’s Pilbara.
Mamba plans to undertake a low-cost follow-up program including relogging of historical diamond core, detailed mapping, rock-chip sampling, and reinterpretation of magnetic, gravity and electromagnetic datasets.
The company has also lodged an additional exploration licence application over prospective ground north of the existing tenure.
Executive Director Matt Freedman said the reappraisal identified a target style that had not previously been tested on the tenure. He said the next phase of work would determine whether dedicated copper exploration is warranted.
Mamba also said its Meeka East Gold Project remains on schedule, with a Yugunga-Nya heritage survey taking place at the end of July and RC drilling planned to commence after heritage clearance and regulatory approvals.
For Western Australia’s exploration sector, Copper Hills adds another copper target in the Murchison at a time when regional interest in copper systems continues to build.
