Horseshoe Metals commences DSO operations at Horseshoe Lights

Horseshoe Metals commences DSO operations at Horseshoe Lights

19 August 2026 | Horseshoe Lights, Western Australia

Horseshoe Metals has commenced direct-shipping ore operations at its Horseshoe Lights copper-gold project, marking a practical step towards monetising the historic operation's surface copper inventory.

The project is about 140 kilometres north of Meekatharra and covers approximately 340 square kilometres. Horseshoe Lights produced around 3.3 million tonnes of ore before 1994, with historic output averaging 1.7% copper and 2.9 grams per tonne gold.

Why it matters

Moving into DSO operations provides a near-term pathway to generate activity and revenue while the company continues work on the larger copper-gold opportunity. The start of operations is also relevant to contractors and mining personnel across load-and-haul, ore control, grade control, site supervision, logistics and maintenance.

What comes next

Horseshoe Metals has outlined further RC drilling at the Motters zone and the Main Zone extensions, along with additional metallurgical work on oxide copper stockpiles and an update of the project's earlier scoping study.

Recent Motters drilling has returned broad near-surface copper intersections, supporting further definition work around material that may contribute to the project's development pathway.
