Yandal Intercepts Shallow Gold at Siona

13 July 2026 | Western Australia - Yandal Resources has reported shallow gold intercepts from RC drilling at the Siona Prospect, part of the New England Granite target area within the Ironstone Well-Barwidgee Gold Project in Western Australia.

Assays have been received from all nine shallow RC holes drilled southwest of the main Siona mineralised structure.

Significant results include:

• 17m at 1.3 g/t gold from 37m, including 3m at 5.0 g/t gold
• 13m at 1.5 g/t gold from 45m, including 2m at 8.1 g/t gold
• 10m at 0.9 g/t gold from 36m, including 1m at 2.0 g/t gold and 2m at 3.2 g/t gold
• 10m at 0.9 g/t gold from 58m, including 1m at 3.7 g/t gold
• 15m at 0.5 g/t gold from 48m

Yandal said the drilling has demonstrated a coherent horizontal, or flat-lying, zone of gold mineralisation within the upper regolith profile, located broadly southwest of the primary Siona mineralisation.

Managing Director Chris Oorschot said the shallow nature and consistent geometry of the results are encouraging and should add to the Mineral Resource potential of the Siona Prospect.

Why it matters: Siona was a late-2024 gold discovery, and these latest results suggest mineralisation may extend beyond the main interpreted structure.

The nine-hole RC program was designed to test several shallow high-grade intercepts from previous drilling that appeared to sit outside, or show a different geometry from, the main Siona mineralised trend.

Yandal said further drilling is required to determine whether the shallow intercepts are associated with a primary mineralised structure or represent a blanket of secondary mineralisation.

Results from the current drilling will feed into an updated exploration target for Siona, expected in early August.

The company also said RC drilling at Salusa is expected to recommence in coming weeks, while the broader aircore program at the New England Granite target area is scheduled to begin once final heritage approvals are received.

For Western Australia’s gold sector, the Siona update adds further exploration momentum at Ironstone Well-Barwidgee, where Yandal is continuing to define shallow gold zones and assess their potential to contribute to future resources.
