14 July 2026 | Western Australia - Ora Banda Mining has reported a major increase in Mineral Resources and Ore Reserves across its Davyhurst Gold Project, strengthening the company’s pathway toward a larger, longer-life production base.
The company’s total Mineral Resource Estimate has increased by 75% to 56.5Mt at 2.0 g/t gold for 3.69Moz, up by 1.58Moz since 1 July 2025.
Ora Banda’s total Ore Reserve Estimate has increased by 159% to 8.4Mt at 2.3 g/t gold for 610,000 ounces, net of mining depletion to 1 April 2026.
The standout growth came from Round Dam, where the open pit Mineral Resource increased to 25.4Mt at 1.6 g/t gold for 1.33Moz, up from 125,000 ounces. Round Dam also delivered a maiden Ore Reserve of 3.7Mt at 1.9 g/t gold for 223,000 ounces.
Managing Director Luke Creagh said the result represented a “step-change” for Ora Banda and materially strengthened the company’s production platform at Davyhurst.
Why it matters: Davyhurst is becoming a larger and more diversified gold production centre, with Ore Reserves now spread across Waihi Underground, Waihi Open Pit, Round Dam Open Pit, Sand King Underground and Riverina Underground, together with low-grade in-situ material and stockpiles.
Ora Banda said it invested around $75 million in drilling during FY26, completing more than 310,000m of reverse circulation and diamond drilling. The company plans a further 340,000m of drilling in FY27, excluding grade control drilling.
For Western Australia’s gold sector, the update highlights the scale of organic growth being generated from exploration and resource conversion at established operations. Ora Banda said the growth provides a clear line of sight toward its ambition to become Australia’s next 300,000oz-plus gold producer.
