MES is seeking an experienced Senior Open Pit Mining Engineer to work on a contract basis for our client, a Western Australian gold developer with a significant high-grade gold deposit.
In this position, you will be responsible for safely managing the achievement of production and planning targets of the open pit mining operation.
Requirements:
- Tertiary level Mining Engineering degree;
- Quarry Managers Certificate (desirable);
- Western Australian 'C' Class Drivers Licence;
- Ability to work autonomously with well-developed time management skills;
- Project/infrastructure experience;
- Proficient using Deswik.
Position Duties:
- Short-Term Mine Design;
- Assist with the preparation of monthly and quarterly development and production schedules;
- Mining evaluation, reconciliation, and reporting to achieve mining optimisation;
- Schedule and monitor short-term planning;
- Coordinate open pit production activities;
- Liaise with relevant personnel to ensure production plans are executed effectively to optimise ore extraction;
- Production Reporting;
- Liaise with the OP mining contractor on a daily basis;
- Monitor and assess geotechnical action plans;
- Undertake productivity and equipment utilisation improvement studies.
