LD18558 - Project Geologist – Base Metals - Flexible Rosters on Offer

Our client, an emerging Western Australian resources company, is seeking an experienced Project Geologist to support exploration and resource appraisal activities across its advanced base metal and greenfields projects.

This varied role combines near-mine and remote exploration fieldwork, site team coordination, drill program supervision, geological logging, QA/QC, data interpretation and modelling. You will play an important role in advancing geological understanding and defining the resource potential of the company’s growing project portfolio.

This position is offered on a 9/5, 2/1 or 2/2 roster.

The Role

Reporting to the senior technical team, your responsibilities will include:

Design and deliver exploration and resource-definition drilling programs
Supervise diamond, RC and aircore drilling activities
Coordinate drilling contractors, field technicians and site personnel
Complete geological mapping, sampling and detailed logging across brownfields and greenfields environments
Capture lithological, alteration, structural and mineralisation information from surface and subsurface data
Collect, validate and maintain drillhole, geochemical, geophysical and spatial datasets
Integrate multidisciplinary datasets to support geological interpretation, target generation and resource appraisal
Prepare geological maps, cross-sections and lithological and mineralisation models
Produce accurate weekly, monthly and ad hoc technical reports, presentations and recommendations
Ensure geological data and deliverables meet internal QA/QC standards
Contribute to statutory, JORC and ASX reporting requirements
Mentor and supervise graduate geologists and field personnel where required
Maintain high safety and environmental standards across all field and site-based activities

About You

To be considered, you will ideally have:

Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Earth Science or equivalent.
A current Section 26 certification
A minimum of three years’ experience in mineral exploration and/or resource development
Experience supervising diamond and RC drilling programs
Strong geological logging, sampling and drill program coordination skills
Demonstrated capability in geological interpretation, modelling and technical reporting
Experience using geological and spatial software such as Micromine, Leapfrog, QGIS or ArcGIS
Sound understanding of geological databases and exploration data management
Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
The ability to work autonomously and contribute effectively within a multidisciplinary team
A willingness to work in remote field environments under FIFO or DIDO arrangements
Current Australian working rights

Experience working within Western Australian mining jurisdictions, exposure to base metal systems and familiarity with JORC and ASX reporting requirements will be highly regarded.
