Mining Employment Services is currently seeking a Resource Development Geologist for an established gold operation in the WA Goldfields. This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-performing site-based geology team and contribute to ongoing resource growth and near-mine development activities.
This role is being offered on an initial contract basis with strong potential to transition to a permanent position, making it ideal for someone looking for longer-term stability.
About the Role
Working closely with the Senior Resource Development Geologist, you will support the delivery of day-to-day geology functions across active resource definition programs. The role will see you involved in drilling supervision, logging, data validation and supporting resource development activities across site.
Requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in Geology
- 2–4+ years’ experience in a similar role (gold experience highly regarded)
- Strong exposure to RC and diamond drilling programs
- Experience with core logging and data validation
- Familiarity with Leapfrog, QGIS or similar 3D/GIS software
- Understanding of WA Goldfields geology advantageous
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data quality
- Current WA manual driver’s licence
Position Duties:
- Assist with resource definition drilling programs including planning, targeting and execution
- Supervise RC and diamond drilling contractors ensuring safe and efficient operations
- Conduct high-quality geological logging (lithology, structure, alteration, mineralisation)
- Validate and manage drill hole data, including QA/QC, surveys, assays and density
- Support geological database management and ensure accurate data capture
- Contribute to daily and monthly reporting
- Promote strong safety leadership and compliance across drilling activities
- Assist with integration of geological data into resource and mine planning workflows
