Our client, a newly established and rapidly growing WA gold company, is advancing a portfolio of high-quality brownfields projects in the Murchison region. With a strong foundation of historically producing assets, existing mining leases, and a clear pathway toward near-term production, the business is entering an exciting phase of development and resource growth.

As part of this growth, an opportunity has arisen for a Project / Logging Geologist to join the team on a 3 month contract. This role will play a key part in supporting ongoing drilling programs and resource development activities across a well-established gold project.

Working on an 8:6 FIFO roster from Perth, you will be based at a well-established gold operation located between Meekatharra and Cue. This is a hands-on role with a strong focus on core logging and geological data integrity, supporting the broader geology team in delivering high-quality outputs.

  • Start Date: Thursday 5th May
  • Contract Duration: Initial 3 months
  • Flights: FIFO Perth (charter – National Jet, likely Tuesday fly-outs)
  • Accommodation: Camp-based (established site camp)

Requirments:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Geology
  • Previous experience in a core logging / project geology role within gold operations
  • Demonstrated experience logging diamond core (essential)
  • Strong understanding of diamond drilling processes and geological logging techniques
  • Experience with Leapfrog and/or Micromine highly regarded
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a small, collaborative team
  • High attention to detail with strong data management and reporting skills
  • Commitment to safety and best practice in field operations
  • Current WA C-Class driver’s licence (manual preferred)

Position Duties:

  • Geological logging of diamond core to a high standard
  • Perform detailed geological core logging, core runs, and sectional interpretation
  • Deliver accurate daily reporting and maintain high-quality data validation processes
  • Supporting drilling programs and assisting with resource development activities
  • Maintaining strong safety standards and contributing to a positive team culture
