Make your mark in a pivotal technical role with this established WA gold mine (FIFO) that boasts serious infrastructure—open pit, underground, and large-scale processing—and fresh capital committed to life extension. With the largest-ever drill campaign underway and a high-grade discovery next door coming online, geology here directly drives value.

We’re seeking a Senior Mine Geologist to drive grade control, geological modelling and short-to-long-term planning across an active open-pit operation. You’ll work closely with mining, engineering, safety and environment teams to maximise ore recovery, minimise dilution and keep operations safe and compliant.

What you’ll bring

  • 5+ years open-pit mining geology experience with proven grade control, resource estimation and mine planning exposure.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Geology (or related).
  • Proficiency with geological modelling software (e.g., Vulcan, Datamine, Leapfrog).
  • Strong geological mapping skills, systems/process discipline and data integrity mindset.
  • Demonstrated RC grade control management/design experience.
  • Working knowledge of mining regulations, safety standards and environmental compliance.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication and stakeholder skills, with proven leadership/mentoring capability.

Position Duties:

  • Develop and update geological models; contribute to resource estimation and integrate outputs into mine planning for pit optimisation.
  • Lead day-to-day grade control: define ore/waste boundaries, oversee sampling QA/QC and support dig strategies to lift recovery.
  • Reconcile models against production and assay data; complete quality checks and clear, timely reporting.
  • Provide geological input to weekly, monthly and longer-term plans; collaborate with engineers on pit designs and schedules.
  • Analyse geological & geophysical datasets and field observations to refine interpretations and recommendations.
  • Mentor and lead geologists; foster a high-performance, safety-first culture.
  • Partner cross-functionally (operations, engineering, safety, environment) to resolve geotechnical/geological challenges.
  • Prepare audit-ready technical reports and maintain accurate geological records.
