Our client, a global-scale miner listed on the ASX, is seeking an Underground Planning Engineer for one of their operations. Reporting to the Senior Planning Engineer, the key responsibility is to deliver mine plans safely and efficiently. 

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering;
  • Competent using Deswik CAD and IS;
  • Underground completed.

Position Duties:

  • Develop accurate and detailed mine instructions (lateral and vertical development, stope notes) by translating conceptual designs into execution-ready plans, for approval by the Senior Planning Engineer;
  • Ensure issued instructions are clear, accurate, and easily understood by Operations;
  • Collaborate closely with the geology team to align designs with geological data;
  • Evaluate potential remnant areas for future development;
  • Assist in managing underground contractors for project-related work as needed;
  • Work alongside survey and operations teams to prioritize and execute development activities;
  • Contribute to various Mine Planning functions, including budgets, forecasts, life-of-mine plans, reserves, ventilation, and capital projects;
  • Participate in safety and daily compliance meetings.
