Our client, a Western Australian ASX-listed gold explorer with a significant high-grade gold deposit, is seeking a Senior Projects Engineer to support underground mine infrastructure projects across multiple active panels. The mine, which began underground operations in late 2020, has established multiple mining fronts to de-risk production and unlock exploration potential. With a high-grade resource and a forecasted production of ~150,000 ounces of gold in FY26, it has an estimated mine life of 10+ years and strong potential for further growth.
Requirements;
- Proven experience in underground mine infrastructure projects;
- Strong Deswik skills;
- Experience with underground pastefill
- Project/infrastructure experience
- Ability to coordinate across multiple panels and departments;
- Engineering qualifications and current Australian working rights
Position Duties:
- Underground infrastructure: power, pumping, ventilation, paste;
- Take ownership of the mine primary infrastructure performance (power, pumping, ventilation and technology), ensuring
efficient operation of each and planning for future growth. - Develop a quarterly infrastructure schedule in line with the mine plan, and use to schedule to oversee the scoping,
procurement and execution of capital projects on a monthly basis - Alongside the Senior Planning Engineers, develop a life of mine infrastructure plan (power, pumping, ventilation and
technology) and strategy to support safe and efficient mining operations.
- Update Quarterly Infrastructure plans (power, pumping, ventilation and technology) to keep record of various primary
infrastructure installations; - Seek out opportunities to conduct other backfill (waste fill, CRF, CAF, paste or other) to improve on safety, cost or
productivity to maximize value; - Mentor and supervise project engineers in executing project work.
