Our client, a gold producer who over the past 18 months have delivered unparalleled growth and opportunities are seeking a Senior Underground Mining Engineer to join their operation.
Requirements:
- Tertiary qualification in mining engineering;
- Excellent communication and leadership skills;
- Competent with Deswik;
- First Class Mine Managers Certificate - not essential but desireable.
Position Duties:
- Develop and implement optimal underground development, stope designs, and mining methods;
- Monitor day-to-day mining operations to ensure compliance with agreed plans and quality control standards;
- Optimize equipment requirements to minimize mining costs;
- Prepare underground mine development and production schedules;
- Oversee the preparation and optimization of drill and blast plans;
- Plan and oversee the mine's dewatering system;
- Provide technical input into the underground mining process;
- Manage mining activities to ensure production meets short- and long-term planning targets;
- Coordinate mining engineering activities with production teams, surveyors, geologists, drill and blast teams, and contractors;
- Provide leadership to mining engineers and other technical staff in their day-to-day activities.
Experience
8+ years experience in underground mining operations, with 2+ years in a senior level role.
