Our client, a gold producer experiencing unparalleled growth and offering exceptional opportunities for their employees, is currently seeking a Senior Underground Planning Engineer to join their new startup project.
Requirements:
- Tertiary qualification in mining engineering;
- Excellent leadership and communication skills;
- Strong understanding of relevant legislation and regulations;
- Skilled in mine planning and scheduling software (Deswik preferred);
- First Class Mine Managers Certificate, or experience to qualify.
Position Duties:
- Develop and implement optimum underground development, stope designs and mining methods. Optimise equipment requirements and minimise mining costs;
- Deliver short, medium and long term mine plans, ensuring consistency to maintain continuity of the mine planning process;
- Prepare underground mine development and production schedules;
- Plan and oversee the dewatering system in the mine;
- Oversee the preparation and optimisation of drill and blast plans;
- Monitor day to day mining operations to ensure compliance with agreed plans and quality control standards;
- Undertake ongoing update of underground Life of Mine plan;
- Examine mining methods and equipment to improve performance;
- Supervise mining engineers and other technical staff in their day-to-day activities;
- Provide mine designs and schedules for underground capital and operating cost budgets and forecasts;
- Review underground mine planning cost reports and address any variances.
Experience
8+ years experience in underground mining operations, with 2+ years in a senior level role.
