PMET reports higher-grade, larger caesium resource at Shaakichiuwaanaan

The updated Caesium Zone mineral resource estimate, including the Vega, Rigel and newly estimated Helios zones, reports 1.844 million tonnes at 4.40% Cs2O in the Indicated category and 981,000 tonnes at 3.00% Cs2O in the Inferred category.

PMET said the updated caesium estimate represents increases of 55% in contained caesium metal, 31% in grade and 18% in tonnage. The company also declared maiden rubidium resources within the Caesium Zone estimate.

The consolidated resource update includes CV5, CV13 and CV4 pegmatites. PMET reported 113.9 million tonnes at 1.43% Li2O and 164 ppm Ta2O5 in the Indicated category, alongside increases in lithium grade, tonnage and contained metal.

The company said the estimate is intended to support an updated feasibility study for lithium and tantalum at CV5 and a preliminary economic assessment covering lithium, caesium and tantalum across CV5 and CV13, which it anticipates announcing before year end. Mineral Resources are not Mineral Reserves and do not have demonstrated economic viability.
