Chalice said Kestrel is a shallow, greenfield copper-gold discovery within its wholly owned Warrego North Project in the Tennant Creek Mineral Field of the Northern Territory. The company described the prospect as about 20km from the historical Warrego mine.
Reported drilling included 15m at 8.6g/t gold and 0.54% copper from 78m in WCRC001, including 2m at 56.7g/t gold and 0.88% copper from 81m. Chalice also reported other wide-spaced intersections, including 27m at 0.57% copper from 120m, 11m at 0.84% copper and 0.84g/t gold from 80m, and 24m at 0.52% copper from 60m.
The company said mineralisation has been intersected over about 500m of strike and to approximately 140m depth, and remains open in all directions. It said magnetic data identifies features of interest over about 2,200m along strike, as well as two undrilled parallel trends, which it said indicate scale potential.
Chalice said drill spacing is not sufficient to establish geological or grade continuity appropriate for a Mineral Resource, while reported intervals are downhole lengths and true widths remain unknown. Planned work includes ground gravity surveys, check assays, mineralogical studies, and follow-up RC and diamond drilling at Kestrel and Chook.
