Lotus Resources has announced that its inaugural uranium ore concentrate shipment has left the Kayelekera site. The shipment comprises four containers containing approximately 145,000 pounds of U3O8 and is bound for Walvis Bay.
The company said shipping was booked for a November departure, with delivery to Orano CE Malvesi in France expected by the end of the calendar year. Lotus also said subsequent shipments are expected to leave the site before year-end.
Lotus described the dispatch as a milestone in delivering product to customers and said it was continuing to optimise Kayelekera operations and ramp up production.
