Frontier Energy executes up to A$280m syndicated debt facility agreement

Frontier Energy said it has executed a Syndicated Facility Agreement for project finance debt facilities of up to A$280 million. The lender syndicate is led by Natixis CIB and Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation.

The company said financial close is expected in November, subject to customary conditions precedent including execution of a Capacity Investment Scheme agreement with the Commonwealth and interest-rate hedging arrangements.

Frontier forecasts first drawdown under the debt facilities in the first quarter of 2027. It said the facilities and proceeds from its A$110 million July 2026 placement are expected to fully fund Stage One of the Waroona Renewable Energy Project through to first energy generation in 2028.

The facilities are senior secured non-recourse project finance facilities for Stage One at Waroona, comprising a construction and term facility of about A$250 million, a bank guarantee facility of about A$13 million, and a debt service reserve facility of about A$17 million.
