During the September quarter, Centaurus said engineering work focused on refining the processing plant layout, completing remaining basic engineering and preparing construction packages. The company also executed a transmission system use contract with Brazil's national electricity system operator after receiving grid-connection approval.
The company said an independent technical expert and SLR Consulting Australia, acting as independent environmental and social expert, completed due diligence to support the debt funding process. Centaurus said shortlisted prospective financiers were asked to update proposals and that it planned to finalise the process during the December quarter as part of an overarching funding package and potential final investment decision.
At the Rio Novo exploration area, Centaurus reported collecting more than 4,500 soil samples and receiving more than 4,000 assays. The company said the work defined two sub-parallel copper-in-soil corridors of about 5 kilometres each and that FLEM surveys identified multiple conductors associated with soil and, locally, magnetic anomalies.
