Anson wins approval for Green River lithium plant operation

Anson wins approval for Green River lithium plant operation

The approval covers the direct lithium extraction production site, brine extraction field and disposal field on Anson's privately owned industrial land in Emery and Grand counties. The company said the approval completes the major government permits required to construct the full-scale plant.

Anson said an internal review of its Scoping Study identified potential capital-cost reductions from relocating the plant south and removing infrastructure. It said the revised layout has a smaller footprint, with the cost effect yet to be quantified in the definitive feasibility study, which is underway and expected in the first quarter of calendar 2027.

Separately, contractor JordProxa produced lithium carbonate at 99.6% purity from Green River lithium chloride eluate, according to Anson. The company said an approximately 500-gram sample was independently assayed by SGS North America and recorded low impurities.
