Medallion secures Ravensthorpe approvals and advances project development

Following final regulatory approvals in August, Medallion said mine development commenced at the Kundip Mining Centre. Civil works during the quarter included site preparation, access roads and associated surface infrastructure ahead of box-cut excavation and underground development.

The company said Macmahon was selected as preferred tenderer for an underground mining contract valued at about $240 million over three years. Medallion said work under the contract was expected to start in the fourth quarter of calendar 2026.

At Forrestania, Medallion awarded GR Engineering Services an EPC contract for refurbishment and modification of the Cosmic Boy Concentrator. The company said the EPC program was about 30% complete by mid-September and the modified plant is designed to process 650,000 tonnes per year of Ravensthorpe sulphide ore. Medallion targets commissioning on Kundip ore in the second quarter of 2027 and forecasts steady-state production in the second half of 2027.
